Students decorated gingerbreadmen to look like themselves and wrote out the letters to "Kindergarten Gingerbreadmen." They worked together and shared their work to the class.

Students were given a paper with a letter and asked to identify and draw an object that starts with the letter on the paper.

03 // Sounding Out Word Sounds

Tasks \\
1 \\ Students are asked to recall and identify the vowels, A, E, I, O, U, in a word search made of their names. They are also asked to identify their classmates' names.
2 \\ Students are taught short vowel sounds and asked to identify the short vowels in basic words, like "cat" and "big."
3 \\ Students are asked to write out beginning letter sounds to words and identify which words start with vowels.

Post-it notes of the numbers 1-20 are on the wall with its order scrambled. Students are asked to put the numbers back in the correct order and count out the numbers.

05 \\ Days of the Week & Calendar Making

Students learned the days of the week through making their own August calendar, singing the days of the week songs everyday, and telling me the date everyday during summer school.
