Visual Identity Design
I created a visual identity for A Circular Design Studio, located in Copenhagen, Denmark in my Graphic Design course while abroad.
01 \\ Discover
What is A Circular Design Studio?
A company that represents a fusion of aesthetics and sustainability!
A Circular Design Studio is an untraditional upcycled plastic company that creates interiors, installations and works of art, in 100% recycled plastic, collected from households, nature or companies in Denmark.
Sample Products.
Circular Creation Process.
Make. Recycled plastic is collected locally and broken down and used to make new products.
Use. The products are then sold online and in stores to customers to use.
Reuse. Once products have come to the end of its use, the plastic is recycled.
Repeat. This process is repeated for several times after until the plastic
is at the end of its lifecycle.
Color Palette.
Key Takeaways. Fun, Colorful, Cozy.
02 \\ Define
01. Marbled
Concept 1:
Concept inspired by the swirls formed through the melting and reforming process. This marbled pattern would be repeated throughout the company’s marketing, while the actual logo and typography used would be simple to reflect the minimalist philosophy.
02. Minimalistic Emblem
Concept 2:
Inspired by A Circular Design Studio’s commitment to sustainability and minimalism. The use of an emblem is a common tactic for stamps on sustainable products, which
I wanted to convey in this visual identity.
03. Malleability
Concept 3:
Visual identity of several logo forms, inspired by the malleability of A Circular Design Studio’s products and the process of which they are constantly being reshaped.
04. Geometric Blocking
Concept 4:
Inspired by how the collected plastic is broken down in several abstract pieces. I wanted to incorporate these pieces and shapes into the visual identity through (3D) geometric blocking.
03 \\ Develop
I decided to expand on Concept 3: Malleability
Logo Forms. Selection of logo forms created by different circle parts, squares, and rhombuses in the colors of the company’s products.
Event Posters.
Sample Iterations.
04 \\ Deliver
After refining my design, I settled on a logo form that more circularly confined, and played with the rotational dynamic and malleable element of the design.
Typeface.
I selected a simple typeface that can be curved without being distorted, and easily readable by all viewers.
Poster Process.
